October 18th, 2010 05:28 PM #21For me naman for first time drivers na gusto Manual. it easy to drive itong
crosswind. kahit mali timpla mo sa clutch and gas pedal hindi basta basta
mamatay engine, you will just move forward bitiwan mo clutch and gas pedal slowly and then doon ka na mag timpla.
Nothing fancy about the crosswind except it's reliability and durability. not much speed but it will get you kahit saan mo gusto pumunta.
ako I've driven many vehicles, all have their pros and cons it up to you lang kung ano priority mo. para sa akin one of the best all around vehicle ang crosswind.

October 18th, 2010 07:05 PM #23sali ako with my two cents worth!!
first off, i have a 2002 model xuv. i make 16km/l at 80-90km/h. if it is a question of practicality, the crosswind is it. matipid sa diesel, matibay ang suspension, at super tibay ang engine.
kung hindi spoiled ang katawan mo, ok na rin ang creature comforts (2002 xuv). power steering, sidemirror, windows - basic. bench type passenger seat - depends if you think its sweet for the wife to rest her head on your shoulder while you drive. bunso also has a comfy space to sit between you and the wife if needed. the 2nd row seat is good enough for dikong and kuyang. cool a/c. large baggage room at the back, kasya pa 2 yaya and all your gear for 3 days, 2 nights outing.
you are also assured that if you do the necessary maintenance, change oil n fluids lang naman plus the usual preventive checks, hindi ka ipapahamak or isusubo.
we had fun with our xuv from puerto galera, mindoro to anilao, batangas to pagudpud, ilocos norte. when we went to pagudpud, my fuel cost is 2,500 pesos cheaper than the field master of my friend. kaya nga kung practical ka, ok na ok.
BUT
if you want to be passionate in driving, dont buy the xwind, buy the subaru forrester 2.5 xt.
and if you want to be spoiled, go for pajero or alterra or sta. fe.
if you're a yuppy, try fortuner or montero or tucson. im sure i forgot some brands, sory.
kung boat ang xuv, its a row boat as compared to others which are like yatchs or speed boats.
so if you're always in a hurry dont buy the xuv. trust me, madali lang sya i drive kung mahinahon ka lang at hindi tamang boy racer and apak sa accelarator. haha.
as for me and my family, di kami mayaman pero mahilig kami maglibot. so practical kami, basta tipid diesel and reliable.
di masyado comfortable (kasi medyo matagtag) pero basta maginaw sa loob, tulog din ang kids, hehe. dami karga, matibay pa.
i would say, pwede na talaga xuv.
sa akin lang po. just a satisfied xuv owner sharing his experience.

October 18th, 2010 08:07 PM #24pareho kay kenz88, I'm also planning to buy a crosswind. I'm planning to use it for my family usually. very helpful ang mga posts nyo. thanks.
I'm still deciding to buy either xti or xuv. normally, di naman ako lumalampas ng 150kph e so ok lang hehehe.
Yun nga lang medyo tight lang budget. Masyadong mahal ang xuv for a 1M+? Yun nga lang sa porma maganda.;)

-very easy to drive, high vantage point, rear wheel drive, hindi masyadong malapad kaya pwede kang sumingit kahit saan. good for first time drivers[/quote]

October 19th, 2010 12:55 AM #26-----------------------------------------------------------------------
saka very comfortable dahil kahit gaano kalayo byahe,di sumusuko yung lamig ng aircon...
saka pang matagalan ko na service na ito,ang hirap kasi kumuha hulugan sasakyan e,ang hirap sa budget...
another satisfied xwind/sportivo owner po...

Isapang pros, kapag na i drive mo yung crooswind at me na race ka (say a 1.6L car) at nanalo ka due to the other side's poor technique... priceless errr miracle
pat yourself on the back... hihihi

October 19th, 2010 09:58 AM #28just bought a second hand one recently. nagtanong-tanong din ako dati dito sa mga tsikoteers before deciding to buy it. i definitely agree with all the pros. but in the end, i decided to buy it because ang pogi ng ride ko, so habang nakasakay ako, feeling ko pogi din ako:loveshower:

October 19th, 2010 10:06 AM #29sir imcocoy,
here is my take on the xti vs. xuv dillema:
kung kaya rin lang ng budget xuv ka na. you get the added height for flood and rough road crossings and the added porma/tougher look.
no offense to the xti, it is also capable. i have an xuv now, but when means allow me to do so, i would like to buy an xti for those times na long drive lang on good roads (like trip to subic).
if you will only use it on good roads (although imposible yata ito) the xti gives you the advantage of lower stance and therefore more stability than the xuv, and beter fuel economy due to smaller tires and lower wind resistance compared to xuv.
i hope may naitulong ito sa pag-iisip mo sir.

sir acergy09;
its nice to know sir that we look at it the same way. naniniwala ako na marami pa sa forumers dito ang tulad natin ang views. marami akong friends who try to convince me to sell my xuv (kasi pang karaniwan daw ito) and buy a montero or fortuner para my "representation".
ang lagi kong sagot, pag nakagamit ka ng crosswind, wala ka nang ibang sasakyan pa na magagamit at papasa sa iyo in terms of practicality and usefulness. hahahaha.
maybe someday, i'll buy for "representation" but i'll always have a practical and useful vehicle in my garage. and that will be an xuv. or ibenta ko man xuv ko, i will just upgrade to sportivo.
