March 27th, 2017 08:13 PM #23The best way to test a car battery is to use a battery tester, used in batt charging shops. It has a clip for the negative terminal and a sharp probe for the pos terminal. Just clip to the neg pole and the pointed probe on the pos terminal. No guesswork. Can be used for 6v or 12v. It measures
the actual current capacity of the batt. thru a low ohmage-high power resistor. Voltage readings can sometimes be deceiving.
