November 27th, 2008 10:30 AM #4354Yes sir, I am from Luzon, Quezon City, and I am looking forward on our EB, if ever we'll have one.
To those who are mechanically inclined, could you please help me to determine what's this annoying sound that my engine produces?
I went to my province in La Union yesterday and throughout the duration of the trip, that irritating sound was there.
- It's making a "twiik" sound. Regardless of the gear, 1 - 4, speed, low or high, smooth or rough road, it will sound.
- When I reached 140, it made a "chhhuuuuuuuwwwaaaaaaaa" sound.
The "twiik" sounds like a loud hiccup.
The "chhhhuuuuuuuwwwaaaaaa" sounds like how a goat makes a sound.
With regards to my truck's performance, I don't feel anything weird. It's still smooth as ever and fast.
It's really getting on my nerves especially that "twiik" sound. My cousin who has a Pajero Fieldmaster told me that his also has that sound but to think that my truck is still new, he couldn't believe that it already making that sound. He thinks the compressor is the culprit. Mine odometer reading registers 8500+ kms.
I wanna ask you guys first prior to having it checked since I feel that you know more than those people in the dealership.

Guys, I will be answering my own query since I have finally found the culprit behind those sounds. Today, I just couldn't bear that sound anymore and I didn't want to go to Isuzu Q. Ave to have it checked since I felt that they will just give me BS answers or alibis. So I went to my trusted shop and looked for my trusted mechanic and told him about those sounds. As soon as he removed the cover of the engine, he already saw what's causing it. A screw, about 2 inches long wasn't properly screwed and the fan belt was wobbling. No wonder that sound started to appear about 2 days after I had my 2nd PMS. I don't hear those sounds anymore after that screw got tightened. Please see attached images below:
That screw (he already tightened it when I took this picture) that has a blue line on top of it is the one that wasn't properly tightened and it looked like it was about to fall but thank God there is an engine cover that perhaps preventing it to fall and get stuck in those belts that might cause bigger damages if that happens.
He was making sure that it's properly tightened.
The part where he was tightening the belt since it was wobbling.
There it is, problem solved! This kind of incident just shows how, sometimes, incompetent, inept those mechanics in dealerships are. A freaking 2 inch screw wasn't properly tightened - goodness!. It's so hard to fathom that such a screw, that is so visible prior to putting the engine cover was overlooked.
So guys, just in case this happens to you wherein after your PMS you are starting to hear those sounds that I had posted here, try checking that screw coz maybe an inept mechanic from your dealer forgot to screw it properly.
