at this time, both the fortuner and alterra are in their break-in pd.. both are basically new releases.. one factor to consider is the driver's will to push the limits (well, if u'r not worried of the consequences of overworking ur engine during the break-in pd
)
the alterra crDi lacks the acceleration of dmax's 4jh1 but has more to give with it's 140hp engine in long stretches when it has achieved momentum

Up ko lang.
Dmax geeks... have you guys ever experienced squeaky brakes? I've first experienced just less than a month ago. I called up isuzu and they gladly refaced and replaced the pads for free. Afterwards, the squeaking sound has come on back. What could be the problem? The only reason I'm thinking of has been the rain for the past weeks, which could be corroding the disks. but that should not happen... I dont have that problem on my other cars.

Yup, my D-Max had squeaky brakes before during the 1st 15,000 kms. The squeaks disappear when I have the linings sandpapered. Now at 23,000++ kms, the brakes are squeak-free. During the last PMS at 20T kms, I saw for myself that the linings were still thick.

November 18th, 2005 07:03 AM #130speed is no problem with the 4x2 LS dmax we drive (our office still owns it kahit na car plan sa amin kasi)...it can do 170kph on is odometer ... but I am not encouraging everybody to follow suit (actually even my frontier can do that speed)....anyways I love the acceleration of the dmax beter than the frontier...iba talaga ang intercooler turbo.
I have noted that I don't have anyproblem with the whole vechicle (like nginig at topspeed)...in fact mas mukhang mas stable yung dmax kaysa dun sa frontier ko when we are running speed above 160kph...mas feel ko na napakabilis na ng ride sa frontier...yung dmax swabe...gulat nga ako 170 na yung speedometer reading...parang 120 lang kasi yung cruising feeling niya
PS. I don't normally run this fast unless the road is clear (sa NLEX) and I am really in a hurry to reach my destination.
Anyways, my point is I am very satisfied sa dmax performance...laman siya ng dalawang ligo sa frontier 2.7 elite ko.
...I wonder how will the fortuner or hilux fair with the dmax???
