At some point after I bought the Alterra, I felt a little regret for not getting Santa Fe instead. interior-wise, Alterra is by far better than Montero, Fortuner or Everest. but Santa Fe's interior is the best. And the rim of the 2010 Santa Fe is great just like Alterra.

I think Santa Fe is very fuel efficient given that its engine is only 2.4L and it is CRDI VGT which according to what I read, is the latest in CRDI technology. My Alterra's best record to date is 7.2 km / liter which is a far cry rom what I read from many users (average around 12 km / liter city driving). but I was told that Fc will get better as I approach 5000 km (right now, I only got 1600).

I one went to Batangas and hirap and Alterra to overtake yung Toyota Innova ng bro ko during the stretch of SLEX. I was told that Santa Fe has better acceleration and could even attain higher speed.

Overall I am happy with my Isuzu Alterra and really no regret but if I had a time machine, I would have gone for the Santa Fe instead.

Pero for long term use, durability, and kung pang harabas, baka mas tatagal ang Isuzu Alterra compared to Hyundai Sta. Fe. Not sure though, baka bias lang ako because most heavy duty trucks on the road are Isuzu.

Hi there we have also a 2009 Alterra model

Wag nyo pansinin mga naninira sa Alterra, ke mukang pick-up, 3rd world etc..yea agree muka talagang pick up so what..what matters is the performance..parang sa tao aanhn mu itsura kung wlang utak dba..aanhn mo porma kung pgdtng sa performance talo..alterra is the choice especially for the off-road drivers like me. SUV na,luxurious pero pangharabas talaga cxa..wla kmeng msb..good as very good 4-5 star rating..Sinasabi nla mas maganda daw montero, tucson at fortuner, well kanya kanyang opinions naman yan e,ang akin lang, itry nyo lahat yan sa baha, matagtag na daan, matarik, sa bicol, sa lobo sa quezon at iba pang liblib na lugar na mahirap ang daan, vs. alterra, Proud alterra owner kme! =) The name ISUZU says it all, realibility, durability and performance should be considered first before price and yung porma huli na un . maganda dn ang porma ng alterra =) I've driven a Fortuner and Alterra and my choice is alterra, wlang tirk, wlang baha baha, o mababato dadaanan lng yan ng alterra hehe

    Hi All,

During my 1500 km pms, I requested Isuzu Pasig to use full synthetic motor oil (I will of course pay the cost of the oil) but they said that is not allowed or else my warranty might get revoked.

I asked them why and they only say that is their policy. It is really annoying when people are following policies without knowing why

Anybody know if that is really indeed the policy and if so, why is it so?

Honestly, that's crappy BS! If they loaded it with BESCO oil, then I would agree.

What is the FC of the Isuzu Alterra 4x2 with AutoBox (Automatic Transmission)? How about the FC of the Isuzu Alterra 4x4 Automatic Transmission?

Isuzu Alterra 4x4 AT. So far the best FC I have attained over a 3 week period is 7.2 km to a liter and that already included a long drive to SLEX during weekends.

But my odo is still 2000 kms so I am stil hopeful FC will drastically improve as I get more mileage.
