WHAT AUTO EXPRESS SAY ABOUT THE NEW SANTA FE
Wednesday 21st June 2006
If you were to draw up a list of countries renowned for building world beating cars, its safe to assume Korea wouldn't feature very strongly. However, don't bet on that being the case for too much longer. Hyundai has made significant progress over the last few years thanks to its industry-leading five-year warranty and increasingly competitive car range.
And now it's produced a car that will really put it on the global map. The original Santa Fe SUV may not have troubled the class-leaders, but the second generation version is another kettle of fish altogether. The fact it's the only contender in the class to feature seven seats gives it an immediate head start - especially since they're so easy to use.
But that alone isn't enough to earn it victory over some long established opposition in this hard fought sector, so it's just as well the Santa Fe also boasts smooth styling, easy-going road manners and a gigantic, highly practical and tastefully designed cabin.
And the good news doesn't stop there, either. The pick of the engine range is the brand new 2.2-litre Variable Geometry Turbocharger diesel. It's a revelation - every bit as smooth, silent and vibration-free as Honda's i-CTDi unit, it gives the Santa Fe effortless mid-range urge.
No doubt about it, if you're in the market for a family-friendly SUV, there's now no better option than the Hyundai Santa Fe. Not only does it show rivals such as the Honda CR-V and Nissan X-Trail a clean pair of heels, but the forthcoming Land Rover Freelander will have its work cut out, too. Hyundai has pulled out all the stops with the Santa Fe, and as a result Korea has a class-leader it can be proud of.

with the 4x2 CRDi lang, hirap na sila i-meet ang demands. what more with the 4x4 CRDi?
hindi pa kasi i-volume ang pag-stock eh.
