FYI, sir ang crdi ay para lang sa diesel engines.

ang alam ko nga di na sila naglabas ng diesel variant sa bagong ford focus.

that's what i'm referring to the new focus since they don't have diesel variants, gas only. sorry for the confusion. i guess we are talking about new cars here not old ones.

the poster above mentioned about ford having a traditional turbo. i was pointing out that its turbo is already vgt. of course we are talking about the last gen focus :-). anyway.. is it just me or mas maliit talaga yung likod ng hatchback? para kasing mauuntog ako sa likod. ganito rin ba sa sedan?

don't forget that this has a 128 horsepower with 260 torque and VGT ( variable geometry turbo )...yes naka TURBO po! kaya dapat marunong gumamit ;)

Does a turbo engine require a cool down period?
    Answer:

Yes, a Turbo requires a cooling down time. How long a time really depends on how hard the car was driven prior to wanting to turn it off.

A turbo requires oil to circulate through it in order to keep it cool and lubricated. When you turn your engine off, the Turbo will continue to spin only oil will stop being supplied to the turbo unless the engine is running. THis can cause th turbo to heat up, and for residual oil still on the turbine blades to "cake" on to them. Over time, unless you allow a col down period, you will notice a substancial difference in the performance of your turbo.

Most car manufacturers will not even mention this to you when buying a car with a turbo, and if they do, they will generally recomend a cool down period of 10 seconds. I would suggest 30 seconds after regular driving, and 1 - 1 1/2 minutes after hard driving. from google
Sir question lang po, how about sa highway? How's the performance pag dating sa 4th gear?Pag tumakbo ng 100kph ano ang rpm nya(less 2k or above?) ? TIA

anyways ang pinakamagandang nadiscover about this accent crdi is the fuel consumption
after 4 days and running more than 500 kms. already ( 2 times ako nag manila-dau for break in )
    12-15 km/l city driving
    19-20 km/l nlex driving
1800 rpm more or less at 100 kph

smooth naman sa 4th gear. since break in period ko pa hindi ko pa nasasagad yung throttle top speed ko is 105 kph but you can feel na it can go further. i have a break in procedure to follow to go only 80-100 kasi.

maybe if ok na break in period i can go 120-140 easily at sctex...imagine what the fc will be probably 25-30km/l and city driving at 17-20km/l

downside lang over used ung vgt kasi lagi cya naka engage/ open kahit low rev. Pag madalas nagagamit at wala sa maintainance madali cya masisira at mausok.
