December 10th, 2013 02:14 PM #1981Thank you sa input sir ronallndottk.
If there's no significant difference sa fuel consumption e kung ibbase po natin sa maintenance and yung SRP when I buy it, after let's say 6 years san ako makakatipid all in all, sa Accent HB or Mirage G4 GLS?
Been reading a lot of negative feedbacks regarding sa PMS nila. I talked to two SA na ng Hyundai and sabi nung isa is as long as hindi ka bubutas ng isang PMs hindi naman mawawala yung warranty. Yung isa sabi sa akin hindi naman daw sila strict. Nagreremind lang sila and then he told me na ang kailangan talaga is yung 1k PMs which I found absurd. Ang alam ko kasi sa Diesel usually sa una every 5k kms yan.
I'll be buying it this month or January 1st week. I hope I can decide on which will be better sa needs ko. I like the G4 because of its features kasama na yung legroom sa rear and I heard na fuel efficient nga din siya and I think mas reliable ang Mistu. Sa Accent naman gusto ko siya dahil Diesel siya at if ever I'll be travelling sa south or further north feeling ko mas makakatipid ako and gusto ko din yung itsura ng exterior ng Accent. Interior wise kay G4 ako. Problema kko lang sa Accent is yung maintenance which is I think costly.
I hope I canhear more inputs from other tsikoters. Maraming salamat po.
P.S. Does anyone know here kung magkano magagastos ko sa back and forth FC from SM Baliwag to Trinoma and kung ilan kms yun. Can't find a reliable source sa internet e. Thank you.

By reading various forums I have come to conclude that the Accent has 2 major issues. The suspension in the rear is too soft. Is this really an issue or just the characteristic of the car? Is there a remedy to this?
The 2nd issue I read which pertains to the M/T variant is the stuck up clutch. Where the clutch pedal would not go back to the original position when depressed.
Are these issues resolved already? And are there other things that I need to be aware of? Since this is a CRDi engine, how about the injectors? Has the car been de-tuned to comply with our dirtier diesels?
I would really appreciate your insights as I believe asking in an owners club is the most reliable information you will get as compared to sales people and non-owners.
THANKS!

December 10th, 2013 09:33 PM #1983This is my third Hyundai, though this is my first diesel powered one. PMS is every 5K (for all of them). Yes they remind you after 3 mos., but if your mileage is low then stick with the per km. Been doing that, warranty is still intact. There's a PMS for the first 1K, then every 5K thereafter. First 1K and 5K are free labor. My two earlier Hyundais were pretty reliable.
Legroom for the Accent is probable bigger for the Accent because of it's longer wheelbase. Accent's wheelbase is 2570 mm. G4 is 2550 mm.
Both have 5 year warranties, if I'm not mistaken. Reliability is probably on par with each other.
A colleague has a 5 door Mirage, complains that it bottoms out when loaded with four passengers. He alleviated it somewhat by using spacers in the rear springs.
Considered the Mirage/G4 in my hunt earlier...but I still prefer the inherent smoothness, especially at idle, of a 4-cylinder.
Whatever you choose, good luck.

December 10th, 2013 09:49 PM #1984The soft suspension was a concern too before, but after driving mine for two weeks now, it doesn't seem to be that much of an issue. I only drive with one or two passengers, so haven't noticed any bottoming out. If anything, the ride is pretty comfortable.
Mine is an AT, so I couldn't comment on the clutch thing. Have 2 other Hyundais with MT (not Accents) never experienced a clutch stick the way you described.
The big three sell Euro II diesel fuel (500 PPM sulfur). Seaoil sells Euro III diesel fuel, which they claim is Euro V compliant. It's just Euro III (150 PPM). Unioil sells Euro IV diesel fuel (50 PPM). The less sulfur the cleaner.
Proper maintenance and judicious selection of fuel are probably key. As for reliability, it would seem Hyundai's diesel engines are, judging from the number of diesel Accents (taxis), Tucsons, and Sta Fees running around.

December 11th, 2013 09:10 AM #1986sir correct me if im wrong, previous accent diesel was a crdi as well, that was a 2007 model if im not mistaken, that means no euro IV's before but the previous taxi units are still scampering around here in iloilo which means na it could take on our dirty diesels here. according sa net wala naman binago masyado sa design ng engine, bore up lang nila to produce 260nm torque compared to 240 sa previous and 126hp now from 118 before. paki correct na lang pag mali guys, kalimutan ko na kasi kung tama nga ba to.
