IMHO, this rims looks better on darker shades. Medyo light kasi ang pagka-bronze. But again, it depends on the preferences of the owner.
With regards to 17s, I did that to my wife's honda city (2009 Acquired, 1.3AT). Ang tatag ng ride sir. Not advisable for daily driven cars. And besides, yari ka sa maintenance. A single tire cost as much as 6K if you go to reputable brands though meron namang 2k-3k, I guess china made and its road grip is questionable...
Another thing to watch is your wheels could easily be scratched or damaged at worst kasi sobrang nipis na ng tires. A 3 or 4 inch object hits your tires' side walls, and probability is high na tatamaan yong wheels mo...
With the new accent, the only viable tire size mo 205/40/R17. Napakanipis na 'yan for a daily driven car though it looks so good...
Sayang ang accent at pera mo... a new shoes would do, and if lowering springs are available, might drop it by 2" or let us say 2 to 3 finger gap... Void nga lang ang suspension warranty mo...
Just my 2 cents though...

+ 1000 ako dito kay bro meikey!
I've a bad experience with my 205/40/R17 before, mounted sa lancer ko with lowering springs... grabe ang tagtag and the worst of all prone sa bengkong... nalubag lang ako sa SLEX ng under construction pa ung SLEX, sabog kagad ung goma then bengkong kagad ung mags... one more thing mabilis magasgas ung wheels. sayang tlga.. pero when it comes to looks (porma) maganda tlga no question about it... yun nga lang as one of our bro had said earlier, you'll be compromising a lot sa R17.
But depende parin sa end user on what do you prefer... based on experiences lang..

I think sasabit na sir ng konti. I was thinking din using 45 series in 17s. Though acceptable naman 'yong outside diameter against the stock w/c is less than 3% I guess, pero sasabit na ng konti on full turns. And if you have mud guards, then probably you have to remove it na...
Though I upgraded mine, but I'm still lurking here in cebu, baka may ibebentang stock ng 1.6Blue... I'd like to leave the car as stock as I could. It improves the ride a lot. You have a good feel of the road, unlike sa 70 series, na feeling mo, sobrang detached yong sasakyan sa road.

oic.
Yeah, actually what you did was correct. You didn't compromise the ride comfort and the safety of your rims. The 14's are too small, upsizing it by 2" is probably the best option. Add one more ... and you have to compromise a few things over looks ( maganda talaga kasi ... if you saw the Accent * MIAS I think that guy was wearing Bronze 17's. ) parang sa Stance Nation ba .... Form > Function. Wherein you have to drive really .. really ... slow in order to make sure to have your mags undamaged for a long span of time.
Yep. If you happen to spot the OEM's of the Accent Blue, better grab it ASAP. I'd really doubt if Blue owners would give up their rims easily, its one of the things that detaches them from the 1.4L clan so if it happens that someone gave up on it & you spot it right on probably it wont happen again in a few months or so kaya buy it. Don't buy on CASA's though. They'll charge you A LOT.
