If you're referring to the reconfiguration of your 2nd and 3rd row of seats, then I think that was answered by GSTM9 (and you quoted on your last post),- P100K. Whew!
I am quoting it again here....
I can't confirm this, but I heard it will cost about P100K to have the seating arrangement reconfigured. That's because they will have to place recessed railings into the floor, among others (no easy task).
Ironic isn't it? A big van with not-so-usable/flexible space? Hhmmm...

March 11th, 2008 08:28 AM #963Yes, it is very ironic. I posted a few weeks ago that the Toyota Super Grandia looks like better deal if one is the passenger most of the time - more room because the driver's row is pushed all the way to the front (of course, there are disadvantages....like safety compromised because of the minimal crumple zone).
What Hyundai should have done with the 12 seater Grand Starex is make its last row of seats split and fold type (like the old Starex and the Innova, Grandia, etc.) instead of the fold and slide. That way they will allow for more space with long items, balikbayan boxes, etc. Also, they should not have bolted the seat on the 2nd row, left side (in the 10 seater it can slide) - that means passengers entering to sit in the 3rd row will still have to pass by the right side since that is the only one that slides forward.
For now, the Grand Starex' most flexible seating option is the Gold variety and the high end 10 seater model - where both rear rows slide almost all the way to the middle of the van --- one can in fact, put in a sliding table between the rows or have kids dancing inside (not recommended while van is in motion)

March 11th, 2008 08:38 AM #964I haven't been to the NLEX or Star Tollway since my 1000km PMS. Before that, the Gen 4 TCi was able to run at 120+kph at 3,000rpm. In the Hyundai Auto Club forum, some members are able to run their CRDi Grand Starex at 180kph. I won't be surprised, since the CRDi has 174hp. Even at 2,200kg curb weight, that translates into a power/weight ratio of 79hp per ton.
The TCi only has a power/weight ratio of about 46hp per ton. So I think it will max out at 160 (about 4000rpm).

March 11th, 2008 08:46 AM #965I agree here as well. We have a Honda City CVT and its seating configuration is more flexible that I use it instead of the Grand Starex to transport a concrete fishpond measuring 3ft wide x 4+ft long and 1ft deep (by folding down the rear seats). The fixed rear seats of the Grand Starex don't allow this to be placed at the rear cargo compartment. But I can still put the fishpond in....only thing is, I will have to fold back the second row seats and put the heavy concrete pond on top of the 2nd & 3rd seats (which could get wet or dirty as a result).

may Gold variant na ba sir ang Grand Starex?
Kung titingnan sir ung sa international website ng hyundai, kaya ganun ung seating sa GS kse ung kinuha lang nila is ung van version with the sticking up antena, ung 3 or 5 seater lang(similar to starex pro) ung pang business ba, so ung seats sa unang labas lahat eh naka fixed
parang starex pro na nilagyan ng upuan

March 11th, 2008 11:47 AM #967Sorry for the confusion, I saw what was posted, but it was clearly indicated that price is unconfirmed. So what I meant is somebody that has confirmed price.
I was given a quote of 50K+ just to replace the 2 second row seats to swivel. (non sliding). so I'm somewhat skeptical that replace 4 seats and put down rails would be 100k only.

No problem bro...

I remembered this thread as I was going up the spiral ramp of my building's (RCBC Plaza) parking. It was dry, but the ramp had those ribbed inclines so when I felt I wanted more speed going up to test whether the casa's repair had eliminated my complaint, I felt the rear tires slip.
Interesting. It's really that torquey! I tried it again. Same slip. Astig!
*Disclaimer: No one was on the ramp before and after me, and the slip was just momentary. Van was not unsettled.
