The Hummer H3 is an "indirect" competitor to the X5 and Cayenne in the premium segment, in terms of specs/packaging, GM's other premium mid-size SUVs, the Saab 9-7x and Cadillac SRX appear to be closer competitors to the X5 and Cayenne/ Touareg (at least in the US market).

    Saab 9-7x

    Cadillac SRX

h3 looks pretty good in person. it is small, since i cant get the association hummer=big out of my head when i see one. nothing against hummer, but i dont think it competes with luxury suvs.

^Hummer like SAAB & Cadillac segments are known as GM's Premium Brands meaning these are the top of the line vehicles in terms of the luxury line. =)
