September 8th, 2009 12:15 AM #12Best you can do is still bring it to the respectable and trusted HOnda casa, or any any reputable car shop like speedyfix and the likes (WAG KAY RAPIDE!) for them to do Engine scan (OBD - on board diagnostics or MUT - multi-use tester). There are lots of sensors that can light up the "check engine" lamp, they are the MAP/MAF sensor, TPS, coolant temp sensor, oxygen sensor, Dirty EGR valve, dirty PCV valve, IACV, intake air temp sensor, etc. The use of the OBD scanner is to read your ECU which of the sensors is detecting a problem. Cars in the US made 1996 and up are OBD 2. I dont know if the cars here in the PI followed suit. YOu cannot reset the ECU by just removing the negative terminal of the battery on OBD 2 equipped cars but possible on OBD 1 cars....
In most cases, the CEL is caused by a dirty MAF(mass airflow sensor) or a defective MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. A simple cleaning of the MAF sensor filament with contact cleaner will remedy the problem (if this is the one specified as the cause by the scanner)...
cheers!

September 10th, 2009 04:47 AM #14nangyayari din yan sa ESI ko ngayon. tgal mamatay ng CEL. nagpalit na ako ng main relay ganun pa rin. Check ko na rin voltage sa MAP, ok naman. plan ko ng patingnan sa electrician to at baka nadali na yung ECU ko or one of my sensors.
Tips naman mga sir..
