Not all vehicles in the expressway wants to "race". Most are content with sticking to the speed limit (between 80-120kph).
Heck, I won't even know whether someone's racing against me. Akala ko lang ganun lang talaga kabilis yung mga auto 'roun me so ayun either minatch ko lang yung speed nila or I let them overtake me (cruiser lang kasi ako, eh). Probably those who are aware of such rubber match would be those who are also looking for one.

i have to admit there's not much oomph left past 140. in fact the L200 tops out at 150, the isuzu at 160 and the nissan classic (sd23 engine) tops out at 150. pag open na, dun na lamang yung mga auto. pero pag medyo masikip ang nlex, lamang ako sa singitan hehe..

for the most part, di naman ako dadaan at makikipag karera. usually im just driving fast minding my own business but then yung iba ayaw magpa overtake lalo kung medyo me "porma" yung car (minsan yung driver lang may porma hehe).. so ayun i end up chasing after them..

Well... you would also have to qualify what "singitan" means.

If that means not using signal lamps, swerving across lanes and whatnot - then I'd rather "lose" in that so-called "race". I've seen vehicles (pickups, sedans, buses, etc.) in some very close calls in the highway.

i use my signal lamps. but yes i use all 4 lanes and squeeze through traffic if I have to, especially if there are lots of road hogs blocking the passing lanes.
