August 16th, 2017 03:57 PM #1524Hi, forgive me if my question is stupid but I just wanted to know common / best practice for Brake Hold feature of our Civic's. There's another Civic owner experienced the same pre-mature Brake Hold from another forum as well.
- Do you keep it ON and Standby Mode while driving on stop and go traffic?
- Do you keep it ON and Standby Mode during slow moving traffic?
- Do you turn it ON only during full stop and OFF when to move?
- Do you just turn it ON-OFF-ON-OFF when necessary or just feel like to?
Happened to me twice na it engaged even if I'm not in full stop yet when I tried to always keep it enabled which made me felt like the brakes suddenly a bit loose after. I'm concerned it will cause issues on the brakes in the long run.
Thinking of just keeping it ON-OFF-ON-OFF but not sure if it will cause any issues sa electronics or sensor?

I treat it like a handbrake - I engage it whenever I'm fully stopped and in Neutral. When I shift back to D and get moving, I turn it off.
The Brake Hold engages itself even if you're still moving (say at 0.5 kph). Which is why I only turn it on after I've made a full stop.

August 16th, 2017 04:37 PM #1529Thanks po sa input mga sir. So mas ok nga na i-enable lang when needed.
For me, mas ok nga sana sir kung automatic na sya but manually engaged pa sya ngayon.
Sir jut, di po ba ma stress transmission when always shifting gears from N to D? As shared po kasi ng officemate ko.. it's ok to keep it on D since modern cars like Civic turns off "torque" when in full stop / brake hold ON unlike old matic cars?
Sorry for too many questions.. first time car owner and I find this forum to be educated and be more familiar with the car
