If you're someone who spent 1.4M on a turbo Civic, 300k more than the 1.8, the extra P2,800 per year for 4 more horsepower is most likely a negligble expense.

they wouldn't give me a license when my allowance was 4 bucks a day. under-age pa.
by the time i got my license, 300 bucks filled the tank to overflowing.

    those were the days...

That 4-hp gain was for 87 vs 91. Hondata estimates a dyno gain of 7-8 hp for 87 vs 93 which IMO is pretty significant considering all you did was pump in premium gas.

I do not pooh pooh the added cost but that's basically a free bump in hp if you are using 91RON now.

not sure anymore. memory loss and all that.
but i vaguely remember, by the time i got a used, beat up old car, about 2,000 bucks a month for resident physicians in top government hospitals.
i do not know what the minimum wage was, for the others.

Not really. You'll need an extra 10 whp to feel a noticeable difference. And oftentimes it's the tuning that brings a difference more than peak power.

And 87 to 93 in the US is basically 91 to 97 here. Remember they use AKI and not RON. So that's a 4-peso per liter variance.

So a full tank takes more than 10% of your monthly income then, as compared to now wherein the average car owner probably makes at least 40k a month and a full tank is under 2k, then times are better these days.

After all, adjusted PPP is still higher now than it ever was.

Still applicable doc, the average wage of my friends who are public hospital residents is around 40k a month.
