Interesting feature of the Civic that was previously found only on high-end cars - if you brake hard enough to trigger the ABS, the signal lights will blink very rapidly.

This was a feature first seen in the Merc S-Class, and the Civic is the first econobox I've driven that has it.

I wouldn't change the color of the Accord rims. Chrome and black is the new OEM standard nowadays. Most cars are designed with that look in mind. 😊

Good to know on the Fiesta. My Ranger didn't have it before so it's not a Ford standard I guess.

My first set of rims came from a Lexus ES300h:

It was a copy though, just bought it from Evangelista. The rims I have now came from an Accord V6, so they're orig OEM rims. I prefer them not just because they're truer OEM, but also because orig rims from Japan are more durable than Taiwan-made rims.

Not that I had a problem with my copy rims before (like the one I had on my Altis), but nothing beats orig.

This is common now mostly for vehicles that are equipped with Brake Assist ...

Why didn't the painter remove the grill to paint it? ...

i suppose they have made studies on the beneficial effect of this blinking.
personally, however, i find them irritating and somewhat confusing. also, they do not seem to catch my attention as well as the traditional non-blinking red light.
    but that's just me.

Factory brake assist systems that trigger rapid LED blinking like those found on newer Benzes, activate only during panic braking situations. What I find irritating are those after market rapid blinkers that activate even under normal braking.

The brake lights blink only during emergency braking ... when the system detects that you stepped on the brake suddenly and forcefully ...
