Could reach 200 but 4th is too long and out of the powerband so it takes a downhill or a really long stretch of road to get there, I've actually just reached 190 with it. A manual 5-speed Mazda 3 would have no problem breaching 200.

180 at 3rd gear? Is this applicable to all car makes? This is something I want to see.

My 2004 Mazda 3 2.0 only has a 4AT so each gear is pretty long. 2nd gear reaches 120.

So it depends on the number of gears. The top speed that I got for CR-V 98 is 190 but I can't tell at what speed is at 3rd gear. I never had a chance to reach its maximum speed when it was new. Now that it is old, it won't go any further.

The 2nd gear can reach 80 at its red line of about 5000 RPM for Mazda 6. Perhaps you can test the 3rd gear in the upcoming Touge Battle.

It can still go up on first gear...but my other cars can slow down and accelerate going uphill in D without resorting to shifting to 1st gear when fully loaded. Hopefully the diesel CRV can do the same (haven’t tried).

Yes, turbo should help enhance low end power...should help at high altitude as well since it force feeds thin mountain air into the combustion chamber.

I have driven a loaded small car with a small engine going to Baguio and I never had any problems with it. Our old 2009 City was able to deal with the demands of Kennon and it never felt underpowered. It is not as quick though to accelerate compared to my Fiesta Ecoboost.
