November 8th, 2024 01:04 AM #21What a shame.
I heard the shop that assembled the engine actually drove it 500km before turning the car over to Angie.

That's one less NSX in the world.
I'm keen to find out what caused it. Fuel leak? Electrical? Unburnt fuel in the hot exhaust?
Equally important is what was she doing, exactly, immediately before it happened.

First gen NSX's don't just burn to a crisp on a casual highway drive, like some supercars do. The paint / finish / interiors may not last as well as your run of the mill Acura, but the stock engine is absolutely solid.
The shop will need to backtrack all the mods done and see if someone else had done similar "upgrades" in the past.

Agree. The fact that the flames shot out less than a second after the smoke makes me think it is definitely fuel related.
Fuel line, perhaps?

Yup. Titan Works (Q.Ave, QC) even has a reel on their insta page which shows a good look at the engine.
