No point comparing electronics stuff as most are made in China now. IPhones, TVs, laptops, and gadgets are all manufactured in China. People care more about the brand and care less where it’s made.
The first-world countries are to blame for China’s success in manufacturing. They made China richer than it could imagine. Years back, almost every big company put their manufacturing plants in China. Of course, China will learn the technology and market them as their own. Now, China companies are buying big foreign companies.
It could have been the Philippines instead of China. However, our dear elected officials are more concerned in pushing their personal agenda than the country. Talk about loyalty. Bahala kayo dyan basta ako magkapera.

For PH -> all about the taxes
Pero I read an article earlier (sorry can't find the link) na in China, manufacturers also would get a tax incentive if their car has a 1.5L engine and below. Kaya a lot of their cars are 1.5L tapos either turbo or mild-hybrid to support na lang.
no complains about Chinese cars. my personal concern is local support.
I've mentioned a million times na for now, the only Chinese car brand I can personally buy is Maxus because its under the AC Industrials.
Kahit anong sabihin ng iba na Chinese yung Territory and (local) VW cars. maayos pa din local backing nya.
Territory will be supported by Ford Philippines and (based on experience) I have no complains with previous experiences owning Hondas and Isuzus
IMO, depends on the buyer.
My family as a sample.
I will choose the Sedan, my wife and daughter will choose the Crossover/SUV
if isang isa lang... we will choose the sedan

hmmm, are we getting an all-Turbo line-up for the local Civic? or will Honda PH use Toyota PH's tried and tested formula in using the previous gen's engine line-up?

If Honda keeps the R18, it’ll be their longest running engine spanning at least 15 years and 4 generations of Civic.
Funny though, it was a damn good engine in 2006, but today in 2021 it still is a better engine than what Toyota and Mazda are offering in their compact sedans.

If Vietnam decides to drop the non-Turbo Civic, then there's a high chance the next Civic (locally) will have an all-turbo line-up.

here's the thing with us Pinoys...
we prefer imported stuff.
dati, pumunta ako sa car show in Thailand and Malaysia, laki ng banner ng cars nila, either made in Thailand or Malaysia
sa atin, ilang beses natin nakita yung Innova and Vios na naka-display na may malaking banner na made in the Philippines?
