Obviously, your prospective buyer has no idea what supply and demand is. Oh, he got half of it right, the part where the buyer wants to get the most out of his purchase by getting it for as low as possible. I think he missed the part where the seller wants to get as much as possible from the sale. Sure, stuff depreciates eventually. But whatever the price that thing will get eventually doesn't matter, only the current market price does.
Maybe I could go to Gilmore today and try to get that nice laptop for 5k. It'll depreciate eventually, anyway.
I imagine this guy coming up to someone selling a house, and asking for a higher price because this will appreciate eventually. Nah.
That is his logic though.
