We turn on our lights when patrolling our AOR's (areas of responsibility). Heck, pinoys tend to complain about anything. Including the fact that we drive with our headlamps on all the time. Hehe.
Since our friends in the industry have adopted small cars as their patrol/response units, I bet our company will be getting lots of flak when we start rolling out marked SUV's for supervision and response duties. Hehe.
As for blinding vehicles behind us, we have a separate switch for our rear blinding strobes. Though we have the non blinding variety also. We only use the blinders against those tailgaters so they will back off.

WTF is the issue with marked vehicles turning their blinkers/strobes on?
Ok, I'm probably not addressing this to the usual posters on this board who complain so as to have a good clarifying discussion, rather to the ignorant public who are just incessantly complaining.
I'd honestly rather have a marked vehicle (i.e. squad car, ambulance/medical vehicle) with all its lights on while in patrol mode. At least it's not some abusive jerk with a private unmarked car with access to funds to buy strobes. Of course, I'd rather they didn't hog a lane going 10 km/hr causing more traffic when they do their patrols, but that's another story.

labo din talaga no?
Again how can you say and who are you to judge na hindi nga sila nagpapatrol?
