The Philippine National Police-Traffic Management Group on Monday formally launched a text messaging campaign to address traffic violations, specifically the unauthorized use of sirens, and erring policemen preying on hapless motorists.

TMG director Chief Superintendent Perfecto Palad said the public may text the mobile number 0928-3982873 to report vehicles with sirens while the people may send their complaint to 0916-9660244 against policemen engaged in extortion.

"They just need to text the location, the type of vehicle, its plate number and other details so we can immediately respond," Palad said, adding that the police force recognes the role of the public in addressing traffic concerns.

I was at the corner of Kamias & Anonas 6:30 this morning. Naka-red light kaya lahat naka-stop. Out of nowhere, a white Ford Clubwagon (XZB-275) and a Hummer (didn't catch the plate no.) counterflowed, and almost hit a PUJ that had the green light. Sirens and blinkers a-blazing! Peste talaga! Para namang hindi makahintay ang mga lakad nila. E lahat nga nakakahintay, bakit sila?

Siguro suggestion ko TMG, ayusin na lang nila ang daloy ng trapik, disiplinahin nila yan mga PUVs, grabe mambastos ang mga yan (ang lakas ng kapit kasi e). Tigilan na nila ang pagtanggap ng daily lagay sa mga yan, sapat na siguro yun dami ng nakolekta nila for so many years. Time to bring back their long lost honor & respect. Siguro pag nagawa nila yan, yan ang makakasolve ng paggamit ng siren, wala na cgurong sisirena pag tuloy tuloy ang takbo. What do you think mga bro?
