I have nothing against bicycles as a recreation sport. My brother in law and my boss are avid cyclists. They wear the proper equipment and ride in tandem with groups on weekends.
However, whenever i'm driving, there are often cyclists who use their bike for transportation. Often times, they don't wear any form of protection. Heck, their bikes don't even have reflectors. I really feel that those people are accidents waiting to happen. Some of them are riden by boys who even showboat and try to keep pace with you thereby being a distraction.Last edited by bender; September 13th, 2010 at 05:23 PM.

I often encounter bicycle drivers from my morning route going to the office in Novaliches from Roosevelt to Baesa.

September 15th, 2010 05:53 PM #6sad to say, this is one of those signs that anarchy rules in our roads. where sidewalks are for pedestrians; roads are for motorized vehicles; simply put, rules are just being ignored. unfortunately for legit road users, we have to bear all the troubles and expenses when we figure in an accident with road anarchist. ingat na lang tayo lagi and pray that we won't encounter any untoward event with them.

whew akala ko ako lang ang nakakapansin out of millions of motorists/drivers na accident waiting to happen at perwisyo ang mga ito.
sa totoo lang, dito ako inis na inis, ginagawang way of transportation ang bisikleta. yeah, I ride bikes too pero kung pupunta lang ako sa kanto hindi yung from Makati Avenue to Paseo de Roxas gagamitin ko ang bike tapos sa gitna pa ako lilinya.
lugi ka sa mga ito, first of all, walang plate number and of course, walang license ang mga ito. parang mga nagmomotor din ito na singit ng singit. naiinis ako lalo na kung dapat kakanan ako eh nasa right side ko sila tapos padiretso ang way nila, naku talaga.and worse is, sa akin pa masama ang tingin wtf. pwede ba, sa subdivision lang ang bisikleta not on busy streets.
bakit ba ang mga pinoy, napakahilig sa wheels???? ang mahirap sa iba bukod sa nagtitipid ang gusto may sariling wheels in any form na pwedeng gamiting mode of transportation.

I bike for recreation and exercise. In doing so, I also use the roads in going to my biking destinations. I sometime bike commute from home to work and vice versa. But, I always bike on the safe side of the road.
Most bike commuters have very low income who couldn't afford to buy a car. They couldn't even afford to pay for their transportation fares.
I suggest that we learn to share the roads with bikers and respect them. Biking is the cheapest form of transportation and environment friendly.
Peace!

Had a minor accident before. I parked in front of my mom's house, bumisita lang sandali, and it was raining very hard. I checked my sideview mirror before opening my car door-- may mga dumadaan na sasakyan as can be seen by their headlights.
May tumamang nakabisikleta. I told him, "Okay ka lang?", he was mad, and shouted "Bakit mo bubuksan ang pinto mo nakita mo nang padating ako!". Aba, the nerve of the guy... ako pa daw may kasalanan. I said, "Tsong, magkano lang ba mga reflector, P50? Ang headlight (di ko alam tawag dun e) P200? Bakit hindi ka magpakabit?"
By this time he was checking his bike out for damages so I used the time to get my umbrella.
Don't they realize we can't see them when it's dark?
By the way, my tint's 3M #20 yata yun... yung may bakal daw na embedded and it's not very dark, kita mo pa rin nga yung nasa loob pag nasa labas ka e.

There's this one incident din, I was caught in traffic tapos sa left ko labasan ng isang subdivision.
I was thinking "What the ef?!"
