Is is true na pag na rev mo ang any diesel engine to almost red line, magbubuga ito ng usok?

Any diesel engine revved to its maximum engine speed will churn out smoke, that's just the nature of the diesel combustion process. As the RPM's increase, the combustion process remains slower so what comes out is smoke.
I think Niky still has an case here, because he mentions that the guys redlined the vehicle multiple times until black smoke came out while the procedure only calls for a brief (2-4 seconds). So pagkakaintindi ko is, the procedure calls for only one redline bump, not "until black smoke came out" (which is obviously wrong). It is a case of how the test was done (properly or not - in this case, it seems it was done improperly). Kumbaga may loophole yung test and people will fall for it if they don't know any better.
I hope you get this resolved.

Kung natural lang na mag emit ng black ssmoke pag sinagad ang makina ng diesel, lahat babagsak.

Nasa manner po kasi ng pag apak sa accel yan e. Sa mga may diesel rides, try nyo po gently i rev up to just before the redline, hold for 2-4 seconds and then look at your tailpipes. Then do it again but this time press hard/violently even way below (500 rpm) below the redline. You will notice the difference po.

March 30th, 2008 12:14 AM #20Even if there are guidelines for doing such test, I'm sure those a**h**es from the Makati ASBU would do everything possible just to let the vehicle fail the test. So why? Of course if you fail then you're gonna have to pay up for the violation and this is where these crooks get their comission as a form of incentive for apprehending the so called "smoke belchers"
