They say, the thing about cars in Japan is that nobody really bothers to steal them, hence not much thought is placed on secure locks. The general thinking is, as long as it can be closed, that's fine. I've heard stories of Mitsubishis, the 89-92 Lancer especially, can be opened by a barbeque stick through the gap between the doors.
Of course, I have not tried it myself so I wouldn't really know for sure.

benz ko dati before i got the tumbler fixed, kahit anong susi bukas sya hehe.
Wildthing: True, our GTi galant before got locked sa garage with the key inside, dinutdot namin from the door handle and kachug, power lock opened all doors ulit.
Pero pag luma kotse kaya ko with 2 wire hangers hehe...
