wow! I had not idea that its the dealer themselves who add the additive....
Maybe a tsikoteer who owns a gasoline station can elaborate this

October 8th, 2012 11:30 PM #33our family franchised one before, pero umalis na kami. unioil to be exact.
then, check for water and solid deposits contamination. if ok, tsaka lang ilalagay yung new delivered fuel sa tanks namin.

I don't think these companies (esp big 3) would allow their dealers to put the additives themselves, you know, these dealers can ruin the companies' reputation at some point if they mess up.

i'm 100% sure additives are not blended at the refinery
it's blended somewhere down the distribution chain
either sa depot where tanker trucks are filled up
or at the dealer
--
a refinery will not bother making different gasolines (like regular, xcs, blaze)
they're too busy fractioning crude... producing lpg, naphtha, gasoline, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, lubricating oil, bitumen etc
they produce base gasoline
then at the depot dealers specify what blend they're ordering and additives are blendedLast edited by uls; October 9th, 2012 at 12:37 AM.

and those who import finished products also buy from local refiners
base gasoline can be swapped. it's a commodity. no brand differentiation. the differentiation happens further down the distribution chain
and even if everybody has their own additives who knows where the additives come from. they may even have the same sourceLast edited by uls; October 9th, 2012 at 01:08 AM.

On our case, i can only speak on unioil kasi naging part din kami ng family nila. Yung additive nila is Greenburn combustion tech. Nakausap ko kasi yung Manager and yung iba pa before.
