as usual the true purpose of something got lost in Pinoy culture -- ang wang-wang ay para sa emergency pero ang meaning ng wang-wang sa pinoy is "exempted sa traffic rules"

Kaya lang naman gumagamit ng siren because of the flow of traffic. Bawal kasi mahati ang pila ng sasakyan. I hope sa langit wala ng wang wang

International standards do allow for the use of blinkers and flashers on funeral vehicles but they have to be in purple. Even in the U.S. only the police motorcycle escort can use the siren intermittently to control traffic to prevent the funeral procession from being disrupted.
