yup, bikers have this tendency to lane split everytime they see an opening.
yung iba naman ok... and i treat them as if they are also passenger cars. pero very rare ito!!!

Being both a 4 wheeled driver and a biker (just like Kcboy, smeagol), let me share my thoughts with you:

i'm sorry but parang wala naman ata akong nakikitang effort from the motorcycle groups to educate motorcyclists. i don't ride motorcycles, pero i read newspaper everyday. kahit sa motoring sections man lang sana ng mga dyaryo mag pa-publish sila ng mga safety tips, etc.
As for the newspaper writings, there is sometimes on the Motoring Section of the Philippine Star (every Wednesday) highlighting Motorcycles. Soon, there would be columns about Motorcycle Safety, Tips, Tricks, etc on Manila Standard.

also, if these motorcycle groups are really trying to educate motorcyclists, they should first show that they themselves can be responsible motorcyclists when they are on highways. nakikita nyo ba yang mga big bike groups when they are cruising in groups? e parang sila na ang may ari ng kalsada, pinatatabi pa ang mga motorists!

ang pagkakaalam ko, kahit na maliit lang ang motorcycles, they should not share the same lane side by side with a vehicle. tama ba ako?

Nakasabay ko dati yung mga Mad Dogs on my way home from the airport. Nakakaburat.
Just sharing my thoughts and my opinions. And in any case anybody of you is not satisfied, I’m more than available in a friendly discussion.
Friendly ha?!
Cheers! :D

I know someone para makalusot sa NLT yung 250cc niya.

January 29th, 2004 12:53 PM #36kwento ko nga sa taxi driver dati, ung pinaka nakakatakot sa daan is not SUVs, trucks, or buses...it's the bikes that i worry most about B). cugro 7 out of 10 times, mabangga mo ung car/truck/bus, oto lang masisira...there's a greater chance of both parties walking out of it alive...you gotta admit the chances are a lot slimmer pag motorbikes ang involved

Statistics would tell you na mas marami ang namamatay sa car accidents vs. motorcycle accidents.
I'll tell you why, pero lunch muna ko. Mamya na lang.

Djerms,
Result = 5 dead.
Result = 2 dead.
So, ayon sa computation:
1 car accident = 5 dead
1 motorcycle accident = 2 dead
This means, you are 2.5 times more likely to get killed while riding a car rather than a motorcycle.
teka, tama ba yung computation?
