April 5th, 2011 10:35 AM #1332imho, the mall/building management should charge people who park like that the rates for two parking slots. Assuming they have CCTV cameras or roving guards, they can take a picture and notify the people at the toll about it.
Or, maybe just conveniently aim their cameras away from the car/slots...and whatever happens, happens.

A picture projected at the parking cashiers booth to show as proof to the offender why they are being charged at double or triple rate. Then ala bouncer security guard on standby in case the offender gets aggressive and insists on not paying the corresponding fee..and do this:

April 5th, 2011 04:24 PM #1335i was half joking when i suggested it, but for the sake or healthy argument, one car occupying two slots can also mean that there's one less car -- most probably with 2 or more potential shoppers onboard -- that can park and spend money in their malls. They lose money at the parking lot *and* the mall.

It's not just the loss of income for the mall, but worse, it's allowing bad habits to continue.
One time in SM North Edsa, I saw a car park badly it occupied two slots. it was a Sunday and there were a lot of shoppers and I could see a few cars stop, assess the slot, and move on because they wouldn't fit in the remaining space. When I saw a roving guard, I called his attention to it and he acknowledged me and said they'll note it and charge the guy extra when he exits.
I think we who are responsible could also do our little share by bringing the attention of the authorities (if it is possible) to the actions of these inconsiderate fools.

Wouldn't work for malls that ask you to pay before entering the carpark.
