October 26th, 2013 01:25 PM #2Avoid 519, Jomaka Auto Repair & Spare Parts, 21-A Mindanao Avenue, Tandang Sora Avenue, Q.C., read my story here.
Nagloko nanaman kotse ko, same problems, if not worse, arose after 1 month. Also, i went to EDS (sobrang galing ng mga taong to!), and they said na binaboy daw yung aircon (fresh na fresh daw yung tape) ko kaya nagloloko ng sobra.

This morning, I went to a talyer called RML MOTORWORKS in Meralco Avenue Pasig which is literally right next door to us. My car wouldn't start and I'm thinking it's a simple issue with the spark plugs. I asked the owner if they would still charge me for "home service" given the fact na literal na wala pang isang minuto andun na sila sa garehe namin. I was surprised na he was insisting na may charge parin!!! Once na lumabas daw sa talyer ang mekaniko nila e may singil na agad, apparently ganun ka valuable ang mga yapak ng mga mekaniko nila.
To make matters worst, he called over his greedy supervisor (another story which I will tell below) how much that "home service" is. I was quite shocked he quoted me P650!!! When I heard that I couldn't help but just walk away and tell them sa iba nalang ako magpapagawa.
Good thing the alternate shop and mechanic where I'd sometimes get my service which is just in another village was good enough to go with me without hesitation.
Kakagising ko lang nun at grabe nasira talaga araw ko.
Now the PREQUEL: A few months ago I went to the same next door talyer to have a yearly PMS. I was torn between having it done sa Honda casa itself or dito sa next door because of the convenience. The labor in Honda was just above P1,100+ which is quite reasonable since it's a 110k PMS, with all the visual checks included. Mr. supervisor of RML quoted me P950 for a simple change oil + tune up and said "visual checks" are free. Figuring the small price difference I showed my hesitance and he said "may discount naman tayo" so I figured OK go ahead anyway it's next door, for convenience.
Fast forward, when I was finally about to pay, I was surprised they're still charging me the same P950 amount! What pissed me even more is when I was telling him about the "discount" he mentioned, he was reasoning na "marami dinagdag," referring to the visual inspections that I had asked for (simple checks on the fluid levels, brake pads, etc.) na he earlier mentioned was free. In the end I ended up paying P850, unsatisfied with the quality of service and his greed.
I mean, I'm not a cheapskate especially when I see quality work. I've been having car repairs for years now and I have a good idea about pricing. I just hate it when people try to overcharge you over some stuff that's literally easy and quite routine.
Sorry for my long rant! And to be fair to that shop, the mechanics were nice to me and I think they're OK with their work. Just OK, nothing exceptional. They replaced my clutch and the work was fine. Beware about the pricing though!!!

Rapide-Riverbank: nagpa change oil sir ako diyan ng aking hiace van, that was week after arriving Manila early this year, palibhasa matagal akong nawala sa Pilipinas hindi ko na alam ang kalakaran sa presyo ng parts, for a replacement air filter Rapide Riverbank charged me P900, well good and fine.
next oil change, i had it done at Caltex TSora, i personally bought the air filter from an Auto Supply and to my surprise, the price was only P180. Rapide Riverbank had overcharged me 5 times the cost of 1 air filter.
