Beating the yellow light

Hmm...kung wala naman motor yang mga yan...Pwede bang inde na lng huminto?
Yun mga bus jan papuntang Makati....Grabe, kipot na nga ng daan, dun pa talaga hihinto. MInsan nga nasigawan yung mga mmda at bus jan ng mga driver ng passenger cars. Wala rin...DEADMA.

Kung ganun lng labanan...eh di Deadmahin rin natin sila (MMDA).

As far as I know there's no such violation, but if you do get stuck in the middle of the intersection while the light is red, may violation ka talaga. Basically you'll be blocking traffic.

It's called the "yellow-box rule", and it's more or less a universal traffic rule. Notice the intersection area is covered with a crossed yellow box. It's supposed to be the motorist's responsibility to estimate whether or not he can clear the intersection. IF you know you won't have space at the other side, even if the light is green you're not supposed to enter the intersection.

BBC's Top Gear had an episode where they go out and humiliate people who block the yellow box. (supposedly more effective than giving them tickets)

There are two things that are absolutely guaranteed to rattle the chains of good drivers. The first: idiots who drive along in the middle lane in an ignorant haze of poor driving skills. Second: people who drive into yellow box junctions when they aren't turning right and just stop, as if they're waiting for the second coming. The best way to punish the latter is to embarrass them. Armed with a couple of placards, some cheerleaders, and a couple of 'yellow box bears', we did just that.

Pag yellow puwede ka pa mag cross ng intersection pag red light na at hindi wala ka pa sa intersection to cross violation na yun. Pag yellow na mag stop kana sa intersection ka pupulutin yan

Yellow light stop if you can do so safely if not go through the intersection ito sabi sa isang drivers handbook

OT: bakit mga taxi driver pinagbigyan nila kahit sa pag red palang. . daya nman.

Or it only happen in the philippine?

sa may paglampas ng wilson yun next traffic light. yung may over pass. reckless pa nilagay na violation ko sa ticket. tama ba yun? di ba meron pa violation yung disobeying traffic lights?

if my memory serves me right, kapag lumampas ang front tire mo sa linya on a yellow light you'll have to go for it otherwise, obstruction ang kaso mo...
