maraming choices sa turbo and you can customize the tuning depending on how you will use it. yung mosselman na kinabit ko sa E36, 2000+ rpm pa lang sumisipa na yung turbo. very minimal ang lag kasi relatively small ang kinabit kong turbo. ang priority ko is the torque improvement kasi mabigat ang body ng E36.
before you install a turbo, pa-compression test mo muna yung engine mo so you will know if your engine is in good condition and turbo ready.
if it is in good condition, check out various options. you can go to Fusion R c/o Ferman or Oli. You can also check out Autoplus along EDSA and look for Raymund. compare prices and the cost of the collateral parts such as engine management system, fuel pressure regulator, intercooler, piping, etc...
if you have the budget, pa-dyno mo yung car before & after turbo installation so you will know exactly the increase in hp to the wheels. good luck with your project.

December 15th, 2003 12:37 PM #12my 2001 jetta 1.8T still has the stock ko3 sports turbo, kinda small so it starts pulling at low 2000rpm, chip, exhaust, turbo h valve gets me spiking 20-21 psi and holds 12-13psi at 7k red line.
a big jump from stock 7-8psi(150hp) to over 200hp and 255 torque.
good luck on your project and pasakay pag uwi ko dyan next year.

M54, did you race with the same set-up with your opponent?
he had (from what i can see) a manual tranny, exhaust, and a blow-off valve (could hear it when he shifted). i asked him later on and he said he was chipped to 13 psi with the stock turbo.

someone is selling a Toyota TD12 OEM turbo with an intercooler at Freemuff in San Juan for P9000. Do note that the turbo is kinda small, so best for 1.3 engines.
