Were the S14's that were sold locally turbo charged? I'm not really sure if in Japan they sold with turbo but Damn I would wan 1 of those. hehe. Mahal siguro ng parts and they're hard to find, don't you think?

I'll create a thread for underrated vehicles na rin with the permission this thread's starter, if its ok.
Sure sir. That will be the next thread that I was thinking but then go ahead.

not only that there is no Diesel versions of the Escalade or the Expedition (Excursion, meron Deisel.. but its way more expensive than the gas powered V10!!), but the thing about Diesel engines is that they are not environmentally friendly. also, Diesel Fuel costs as much as Gasoline over here in the US. although, Diesel engines consume less fuel, they still affect the environment in a bad way.

anywayz, going back to the topic. I really think that the Honda Civic (from the based model DX, to the sporty Si *or SiR in the Philippines*) is the most Overrated car in the Philippines.. and even here in the US.

specially in the Filipino community.. naku po, lahat ata ng kabataan dito, naka Honda Civic (from the DX to the Si's!, coupe, sedan or hatchback, ang dami nila!) well, kahit na Acura RSX eh, lahat meron sila! jusko, talagang nakakasuya! lolz!

    aite, peace.

If I was in the US, why would I settle for less. Go BIG! 1969 Camaro SS or kung tuner, WRX. Mas madali kasi mag ka kotse sa tate kesa dito. Credit Card lang katapat! hahaha!

i definitely agree sir... back then 116hp eh uber powerful na.. the B13 (sentra eccs) had this GA16DE engine na... which is sobrang bilis talaga...

back then subic racers use the sentra, gaya ni Jodi Coseteng and others and lagi podium yun!

Hondas are really overrated eh heard kinakalawang naman agad ang bubong

Toyotas are overrated din... pero real world performance? wala din...

OT: about the expensive parts of Nissan, Nissan Mantrade i heard are still offering parts for the series 3 sentras and below at very affordable prices... like yung brake pads yata wala pang 500 or 1000 and all of those are OEM.....

RE: Lynx RS versus SiR versus 4AGE 20V Corolla.

An older AE89 or AE92 Corolla with a swapped in 20V engine is much faster than an SIR... heck, a Sentra Series II or Series III (non-Exalta) with an SR20DE can probably leave it for dead.

The reason? Weight. The SIR weighs about 1170-1200 kilograms (near as I can figure), whereas the older Corolla weighs about 1000 kilos or less, and a Series III Sentra with the SR20 weighs just over 1000 kilos (this is Ghosthunter's new "toy" ). That lack of weight makes the older Corolla more agile and more accelerative... a Sentra with the SR20, on the other hand, has both more torque and less weight.... the Series II SE-R in the US, in fact, could beat the Honda Integra of its time in a drag race, thanks to the robust torque of the SR20 engine.

The Lynx RS? Our 2.0 is pure crap. Lots of torque, but a really breathless top-end... medyo bitin ang power niya, especially stock. And the RS weighs 1235 kilos (dry). Yet, with similar mods, the RS only loses out to the SiR in a straight out drag race. Running through the gears at high speed, the differences are minimal.

Right now, my car probably has much more power than a stock SiR through the powerband (though the SiR still has better peak power), but I'm still heavier. I don't know if I could beat one in a drag. I did leave a near-stock RS for dead the other day (and he texted later that he was actually trying to keep up)...

But on track? Bring 'em on. The RS has the best rear suspension of the bunch, the best steering, and is more stable than most of those older cars in the corners. It's on the straights where we lack pace. It's also a great car through the slaloms, though it's probably too heavy to be competitive in the autocross.

    ----

In other words... the fastest compact on Philippine roads (besides the ridiculously expensive Subies and Evos) is the Focus TDCi. :hysterical:

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If I remember, there was an issue concerning the hummer h2 with the inadequate strength of the tie rods. Perhaps it would have been better if GM designed a chassis specifically for the vehicle.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those environmentalists who'd like to set ablaze H2's, and neither am I a jeep fan.
