Ford is veering away from the old 1.6L Ecoboost engine. Most new Ford models come with the smaller 1.5L Ecoboost engine. A Fiesta ST with a 1.5L Ecoboost tuned at 200hp/290Nm will still be a blast to drive.

I also think a 1.5 EcoBoost would make more sense in the next Fiesta ST.
A 1.0 EcoBoost tuned to 202 hp (like the one-off Formula Ford racecar) would mean it's probably near its performance limitations. With other B-segment hot-hatch competitors aiming for 200hp and more, Ford would probably need an engine that can be tuned further beyond 200hp, this is the reason I'd prefer a hotter version of the 1.5 EcoBoost in the ST.
A Fiesta ST220 with 220hp 1.5 EcoBoost sounds very interesting.Last edited by AG4; October 19th, 2016 at 03:12 AM.
