Damn, yung TDCi talaga ang habol ko eh. 163hp, 340Nm. Pwedeng-pwede sana iakyat sa bundok everyday.

Mas may chance kaya kung sa gray market importers na lang padaanin?

Well, the Focus 2.0 TDCi weighs 1436 kg and is only rated at 134 HP. That's only 93 HP/Ton. In comparison, a petrol-fed Elantra has 118 HP/Ton, while the gas Focus has 105 HP/Ton. You know what else makes 93 HP/Ton? The Suzuki Alto K10.

Thing is though, despite being heavy, the Focus TDCi has gobs of torque that simply ignores all the heft of the car.

not to mention may overboost function pa yung TDCi. it may take a long time para mabawi mo yung excess ng price pero that peace of mind when you gas-up 200pesos worth of fuel, kampante kang aabot ka ng 40km yun. haha

Must be more fuel efficient than the 2.0 Altis, the 2.0 Civic FD, and the 2.0 Lancer EX due to the GDi engine and coupled with Ti-VCT. We might be buying this next year, pampalit sa Volvo S40. Not sure if hatch or sedan

The newly launched 2012 Ford Focus 2.0 with GDi engine may claim better fuel efficiency but that still has to be seen for the local traffic conditions and fuel.

As for the Lancer EX, the 2012 Lancer EX offers a smaller 1.6L MIVEC engine which may give better fuel economy than it's 2.0L previous models.

I wonder why Mitsubishi gave the 1.6 EX Lancer AT models an old 4-speed transmission.
PS: The new Focus can be had with a 125PS 1.6 liter Ti-VCT engine (Ambiente & Trend)

Because it's cheaper and it's good enough for the Philippine market.

A lot of people complain that we always get underspeced cars especially when it comes to the drivetrain, but thing is, those who actually buy the cars don't give a damn.

Just look at the Fortuner 2.5G - slow engine, unresponsive 4AT, yet it sells like pancakes because it looks macho and seats 7. Rio 1.4 hatch - comparatively weaker engine that thinks its a 2.0 when it comes to fuel consumption, but still sells pretty well because it's got fancy toys.

Basta pogi at maraming features, pwede na. I've noticed that Mitsu's been banking on the latter with their current lineup, fitting even just the mid-range Adventure with a touch-screen LCD HU.

    Lakas noh?

may nabasa ako one time sa FCP Forums when Sid or Ferman(i'm not really sure who) tested the TDCi M/T and smoked a B16 equipped Honda hatch.
