Looks like the complaints on the horrendous powershift dual clutch is getting somewhere, at least in the US. I also read somewhere of a similar legal case against Ford at Canada and Australia. Here in the PH don't expect Ford to do the similar response but if there are some owners willing to push a legal case against Ford, that may compel them to do something:

Ford Settlement - How Much Will Ford Fiesta & Focus Owners Get for Powershift Transmission Problems

    From the article:

The good news is that a class action suit which is nearing completion offers what appears to be some pretty good relief for current and former owners of these cars. First, “these cars” refers to 2012 – 2016 Ford Focus and 2011 – 2016 Ford Fiestas equipped with the “PowerShift” dual clutch transmissions. If you own or have owned one of these cars, you may have already received a notice in the mail of the pending class action settlement.

The proposed settlement is 148 pages long so this will, by necessity, only cover the highlights of the agreement. But those highlights are impressive.

For example, one of the biggest complaints owners had about these cars was that the dealers kept reflashing the transmission controls without any noticeable improvement. If your vehicle’s transmission was reflashed more than twice, this settlement will get you paid for your inconvenience. Anywhere from $50 to $600 will be given to you simply to compensate you for that inconvenience.

Did the Ford dealer replace a bunch of parts on your transmission to no avail? You may be entitled to as much as $2,325 simply for the trouble you went through. Did you pay for any of these repairs yourself? Ford may reimburse you for those repairs as well.

Likely not. Ford Philippines has a list of vehicle serial numbers eligible for extended warranty due to transmission issues; it might be worth verifying against that.

I had a 2012 1.4 Trend AT and it had a conventional 4-gear automatic. It was the 2012 1.6 AT that used DCT. The Fiesta I had also wasn't on the extended warranty list (checked with Ford Manila Bay).

Ford replaced the TCM for free because the car was was shuddering and not able to reverse. After 1 month same thing happens. Then Ford is now charging 14500 for labor for pull down transmission. And when they opened the transmission they are charging 76500 for 2 shift forks and release bearings. They showed the transmission where the insides were full of rust. They said it is caused sa paglusong sa baha. To think that they were advertising the Ecosport having 550mm wading height. I answered if it's baha why then other components are not affected by floodwaters. Then they said that it might be to tilamsik of rainwater. To think that the Dry type DCT250 should be sealed for 10 years and Ford in other countries has extended the warranty for transmission for 7 years. Here its a robbery.

That is so frustrating to hear! Which Ford casa?

Btw what's the odometer reading when your car's transmission was pulled down?
