Lahat naman ng hatchback walang separate release from the inside... Yaris ko wala, Honda Jazz wala. Ang hatchback talaga yung pag bukas nyan nasa labas... Kaya hatchback are called 3 door or 5 door kasi the hatch is considered a door so unlock lahat ng door for better or worse...
Mga sedan owners sila dapat mag isip ng separate switch kasi normally trunk ng sedan should be opened from the inside and not outside. Fiesta lang ata atsaka Mazda 2 yung trunk nabubukas from the outside... Kinuha lang kasi yung sedan body sa hatchback kaya ganun...

I love using the "2 presses on the key fob" to open the hatch.
It even autolocks again when you close it...sweet.
*Vivafoxpro - Nice mod with the autolock
I don't think it would be beneficial for me though.
I often pull out of our driveway, then my wife gets into the car on the road, as we have limited space in the driveway to open passenger door. Everytime I pull out, the car would lock, then I would have to unlock to let my wife in
I think an autolock for me would have to be linked to the speed of the car. Surely this could be offered by Ford via a software upgrade?
If the computer can detect the speed of the car to sound the seatbelt warning chime, then it could autolock at the same time.
With all the technology in this car, it's a bit strange it isn't included in the Asean version, but is included in the US version.

My mod worked along the programming of the computer.
The way I understand how the computer works for the boot lock is either:
1. Press the boot unlock twice on the fob
or
2. Press unlock on the dash (which unlocks the doors), then press the button at the boot handle to release the unlocked boot latch.
I do not see a way to have the doors remain locked while the boot is unlocked from the dash.
The best I can offer is unlock all doors including boot then install a parallel switch connected to the boot switch to release the latch. Two buttons needed plus doors will be unlocked.

Precisely. It all boils down to marketing strategies. Companies deliberately "water down" their products so that the more expensive models "appear" better.
I read somewhere a case regarding a TV where the manufacturer deliberately inserted some obstruction unto the speakers to "muffle" them a bit so that they won't sound as good as the premium model. Looking at the replacement part, it had an identical part number as the premium one.
Had you bought an M/T like myself, a crude "speed sensing" is to attach the switch so that the 2nd gear position of the stick bumps the switch.
Shift to second gear, POW - auto lock!
