Tell that to the owners who now need to understand that they bought a vehicle with a transmission that needs understanding ... what they understand is that it's not working well and expensive to repair ... Easy to say these things if you don't own such as vehicle and have never experienced the problems ... reading about it in some article praising DCT is totally different from actually owning a vehicle with a defective transmission that's quite expensive to repair / replace ...

Most of the PowerShift DCT reliability issues were with the older models like the pre-facelift Fiesta, the EcoSport went on sale here early 2014, by then Ford had already given the Powershift transmission upgrades.

In the past few years, Ford Philippines has been selling ten times more EcoSports than Fiestas, if problems still persist, theoretically there should be ten times more problems.

In terms of shift quality, there's a limit to what Ford & Getrag can do to the dry-clutch PowerShift DCT.
This I think is the reason Ford will give the refreshed 2018 EcoSport a 6-speed "SelectShift" torque converter automatic (This was mentioned in the North American & Asia-Pacific debut of the refreshed EcoSport).

Nice choice ang manual for ecosport dahil jerky ang automatic. Pero may lalabas na bagong ecosport ah. Baka magulat ka na may bago na pala. Maybe next year

EcoSport continues to be Ford's bestseller, DCT issue notwithstanding: Ford Philippines April 217 Sales Rise Due to EcoSport | ************ - Philippine Car News, Car Reviews, Car Features, Car Buyer's Guide and Car Prices.

Perhaps, at the end of the day, it is all a matter of how one adjusts and adapts to the DCT

But ecoboost would be better

Not everyone is impacted by the DCT, it's working well with the 1.0L Ecoboost engine. However, Ford is starting to do away with its dry-clutch DCT.

DSG is working well also with our VW Jetta.
