NVH - you are now spawning the discussion. (Honestly, I did not pay attention to this when I test drove the Ecosport - but we will see later....)

Hey, for P800K/P900K,- you have a feel of the ride height and the features (for under a million),- so go for it!

Of course, SUVs are better as I mentioned. Right? So, are cars better than the crossover on potholes?

Kindly define "drive". So that everyone's on the same page. This may be subjective & different from person to person. "Feel" might also be different.

Ford is offering an extended warranty with a price of course. If you're in doubt with the AT but still got it, you might consider this though clarify with them if the transmission is really included.

Wow... I'm really glad I came here. Long-time member of Tsikot but inactive.

We bought an Ecosport 2 months ago and we were really happy with it. But then we started having difficulty in stop and go traffic. One time I even nearly threw up because the drive was so uneven. During gitgitan we would either accelerate very fast or really be thrown forward when braking because the transmission would suddenly downshift. I even brought it to Ford last week so they can tell me if there is something wrong with the car.

They were puzzled by it too. They said that the car should have adjusted to our driving styles by now. They also offered to recalibrate the software. Marami raw silang similar problem sa Fiesta dati and they solved it by upgrading the software.

After reading Ford's letter, I realize what's happening now. Frst, we did a lot of highway driving initially. So the car must have thought we did that a lot. Then, there are four of us driving the car. So, I think it keeps trying to adjust.

The good news is, in the past two days, we noticed that we have been having smoother drives. Maybe we're either learning to drive it better or it is adjusting to us.

No one told us there is a break-in period. I thought that concept had long gone with new cars. This whole "car adjusting to the driver" concept is crazy. It becomes a moving target. Car adjusts, you try to adjust, then someone else tries to drive the car, car adjusts again and so on... Patay.

Now, I'm wondering if I should have the software reset. Bale, back to zero.

    What do you guys think?

^ I think you have two choices, reset it back to zero or no one else drives your car. 😄

Thanks but having this car for only one member of the family is not an option. With number-coding and everything, just planning who gets what car is a major discussion for us every day.

Grrrr... I wish I had known all of these before I bought the car.

This is the current issue of the AT although software upgrades were installed to resolve this. Reason why MT is still the better choice for Ford. CVTs are much better today. The cvt that Honda first used had problems that's why they returned to the conventional AT. Its like the technology was still fresh & early to be released. With Ford, they are constantly improving the technology though the transmission should be included on the warranty if ever it needs to be brought down.

Parang mali, hindi po ba DCT ang gamit ng powershift ng ford, not CVT?

Yup! DCT (dual clutch transmission) vs. CVT (continuous variable transmission)

DCT is supposedly a response to what Porsches have, the PDK or Porsche Doppelkupplung (double clutch). But Ford still has a long way to go near with Porsche's technology. At least, you can say Ford's DCT is similar to that of Porsches. In writing lang. Hehehe

Honda City is back again with CVT with their new model. I wonder why. Click image for larger version.

AFAIK mag shudder, jerk and clanky noise ng DCT happens on scenario like on traffic from stop 1st gear mag roll ka going to second gear but before magkapagshift si DCT to second gear nag stop ka ulit, dun nababaliw si DCT, nalilito siya hehe, thou tingen ko dapat driver ang mag adjust para hindi maulol yung DCT ... based on my own experience lang...
