Good am mga sir. I would like your opinions po sana.
I have a 19-year-old daughter, and I am looking to buy her a new car this June. Now we both know that the current Escape in the Phil. is very outdated. Actually, ang gusto niya eh yung bago sa ibang bansa (Kuga), pero unfortunately di pala lalabas dito until after a few years. And since she's currently the only driver in the family, tapos we're a family of 5 (with the occasional 1-2 relatives na sasama), kelangan eh medyo spacious ang car niya. Gusto niya sana ng CUV, wherein yung next choices niya eh either alanganin daw ang maintenance or labas naman sa budget range namen lol. Kung hindi naman CUV eh Ford Focus sana next choice, kaso parang maliit naman for the family.
So we settled for this, kasi parang marami namang magandang offers with the Escape, but I would like to be certain. Is it still worth it, kahet na it's years old na? And would it be okay with my 5'1" daughter (she seems conscious about being in a big-looking SUV with her height)? Thanks in advance ho

i assume you are looking at vehicles in the 1M-1.1M range?
how about the hyundai tucson theta II for 1.068M?
or the kia soul for 919k?
if i were you i would not buy the escape anymore. as you said its design is many years old, it would be like buying an old shiny car and you'd just feel left out as soon as you drive out of the dealership. especially if ford suddenly decides to fast track bringing the kuga to the philippines (but this is doubtful).

5+2 pala. Kahit sa Escape siksikan kayo niyan unless paupuin niyo sa cargo space.
Montero GLX AT nalang. 1.280M, if I'm not mistaken. Or Nissan Grand Livina, seats 7-8 people. But isn't very long and high like the Innova.
Or Avanza. Seats 7 din.
At least yung Avanza and GL, hindi bulky looking.

Di kayo kasya sa CUV niyan. Magmontero na lang kayo or pwede rin yung everest or fortuner. Di naman siya ganun kabulky. IMO bulky for me ay mga hummer, landcruiser, etc.

student pa ba yung anak mo? though very stable and cost-effective, medyo malakas sa gas yung escape ha (2.3 engine yan). kung kailangan niyo talaga ng space for the family, the other suggestions are ok. i'd actually recommend the avanza lalo na kung first car pa lang. yung montero baka malakihan siya masyado. kung gusto niyo ng maluwag na value for money, baka magandang tingnan yung basic na innova (maski manual).
if gusto niya talaga yung kuga, mag-ipon siya and then siya yung bumili kapag nandiyan na.

She's been driving for almost 3 years, more than if counted yung learning time niya. Manual ang nakasanayan, kaso I'd feel safer kapag nakamatic siya kapag kasama mga kapatid niya.
Haha, oo, usapan namen yan. Sabi ko kahit itrade in niya nalang, basta siya na bibili pag dumating yun

Yeah, theta II mga 6km/L. Pero ano naman ineexpect mo sa Escape
Avanza ayaw mo? Meron naman mods yun to make it a little bit girlish. Tsaka I'm sure matutuwa siya dun kasi barkada car din.

are you particular about the looks and the storage capability? if people carrier lang talaga ang hanap niyo, maybe you can also take a look at the following:
haima 7
mitsubishi adventure
mitsubishi fuzion
suzuki apv
nissan grand livina
kia sorrento (7 seater manual)
most have automatic options.
if you're conscious about fuel mileage, a manual tranny should also be considered (given the need to sit 7). more often than not, nakikita lang naman yung fuel efficiency kapag 1-2 lang nakasakay sa car. also, a bigger car will more likely consume more fuel, even if walang nakasakay masyado.

You should check out the new Focus at the Ford showroom, I think the interior space should be good enough as long as you don't have 6-footers in the family.
The all-new Escape aka Kuga Mk2 is expected to arrive after the EcoSport B-segment crossover which will arrive sometime (early?) 2014.
As expected, in response to Tesla’s entry into the Philippines market, Ford will be bringing in the...
