There are very few food ingrediient na worth 10thou. Majority you pay for the ambience service. Kahit sa trueQC pa hindi ako gagastos ng ganyan for one to two person. Dapat yan rare and quality must beworith it.

Ill give another example. The overrated hype ensaymada. I just hate yung tinapay ng ensaymda so low quality for the price.

So kita mo cathey ako bunibusisi kung binabagayan sa presyo. Tintingnan ko ano ingredients/source.

So dont 10thou me. Im from trueQC

The kwento kwento is that it was the cook of Jonas, that left and evidently started The Original Pares along Retiro. Rumor has it that the name was in fact, Jonas. My take on why they're more known is because the eatery is aptly called pares so it clicked more than having just a name for a resto.

    Tara kain tayo sa pares
    Ano yun?
    Basta masarap yun
Oh masarap pala kumain sa pares

    Vs

    Tara Jonas tayo
    Ano yun?
    Nagbebenta sila ng pares
    Ano yung pares?
    Basta masarap yun
Oh masarap pala yung pares (eventually forgets the name of the place but recalls the food so when people go to Retiro, they look for pares - The Original Pares Mami House)

Ouch! Tinamaan kaming mga old timers. Naabutan namin sila when they were like that.

Ang lagi inoorder eh pares = 110pesos. Natatapos kumain isang customer around 15-20minutes. So pagpalagay sa isang oras eh tatlo customer per chair so times 40 = 13,200 per hour.

Eh 2am na puno pa rin so ipagpalagay na 16hours na puno = 211,200 a day.

In a month 6.3 milyones estimate eh pares lang kinalculate ko. Pati yung mga mami at siopao and tapa.

Ang tubo sa pares pagpalagay na natin 40-60pesos. (pero pwede nga 80 tinutubo eh)

Sa kanila na ang lote. Maliit lang bayad sa kuryente.

    Walang binatbat nasa mall.

ito yung post ko 5years ago page 3 post #23. (May 22nd, 2018 12:58 PM)

ngayon ang presyo ng pares eh 170pesos. Pero tapsilog is just 95pesos and its year 2023.

Sa ibang restaurant eh same price yan or mas mahal ang tapa.

Grabe tubo nya sa pares. One chair for an hour tatlo customer yan. But im not into pares. Mas type ko tapa but this is not the legit kind of tapa na pinatuyo.

Ang dami branch nyan pero the secret sa retiro eh yung lutuan doon nabuo flavor but its oily kind may taba yung pares.

di ka kasi gets ni cathy

    ipaliwanag mo kasi mabuti

when you pay for food, you're looking at how much of the price really goes into making the food

like kung ikaw mismo ang gagawa magkano gagastusin mo

ayaw mo ung presyo masyado malayo sa puhunan

restos get away with that by using hype, ambiance, branding/packaging/marketing gimmicks

restos need to do that coz they need to pay rent, meralco, sweldo etc and still make profit

the food isn't anything special it's just expensive coz mahal ang upa

This thread is making me want to try pares retiro/jonas even more. I have not tried pares ever, I think recovery food pero parang hindi naman authentic yun. Mahirap ba parking? I could drive on a Sunday pero kung mahirap parking ayoko magdrive.
