MANILA – Fire damaged a line of commercial establishments in Ongpin Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Tuesday, including one of the city’s oldest restaurants.
Ongpin Mañosa, which has been serving noodles and other savory dishes since 1940, is among those damaged by the fire, which started at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday.
The fire was declared out at 10:41 a.m., after reaching the fourth alarm.
Ongpin Mañosa is known for its Filipino-Chinese dishes such as maki (pork meatballs in a gooey brown soup), machang (rice dumpling), lomi (egg noodles in thick soup) and chami (stir-fried noodles).
