My LA friend and I were talking na pareho ugali ng Mom niya at Lola ko. So I joked na papasa ba ko sa Mommy mo? He said yes, papasa, taga "my school, my uni, works at first job"

I feel bad again because that's not really true, I HAD a good job but now I am jobless for 3 yrs already. It's really getting to me, even my family is asking me what I plan to do with my life Pero hindi talaga matatanggal na people will measure you based on your education and career.

kasi nga society gauges your worth based on your education, career and family background.

Saka ang lalaki na walang trabajo, they are still looked down upon kahit gaano pa kayaman pamilya. Iba pa rin yung pride ng magulang na may anak silang doctor, abogado, accountant, architect etc as my elders call "professional/titulado"

Also, ayoko may nasasabi sakin in terms of my specs. I have to look good on paper

but what other modes of measure are there?
it's difficult to measure one's bankability by his smile or personality or physical atrtributes alone. them don't feed your hunger.

sorry doc, I'd like to clarify, do you mean you agree na tama lang to use education, career and family background as a measure?

I guess kasi some elders have specific schools, addresses, career, family background or religion etc na kapag wala sa "list" nila bagsak na. Although there is logic naman talaga and my paternal Lola explained it well and never failed to remind us since we were teenagers.

Now I am pressured because my LA friend told his Mom to meet me when she arrives in Manila from US. It came straight from the mouth of LA friend na his Mom is matapobre though I think ONE possible issue lang naman joblessness ko

I am pressured because I take pride in my being good at making ligaw the parents of my friends.

Among all my friends, I think ako favorite ng parents, pangalan ko ginagamit kung kailangan sila payagan to go somewhere. May iba nga mas ka chat ko na parents (Mom or Dad) than my friends LOL
