July 1st, 2015 01:51 PM #22Aside from their longevity, what other benefits to I get if I upgrade my stock plugs to iridium? Do I need to replace anything else in the engine when I do this?

you dont need to replace anything else..... spark plugs are plug and play, kung tama ang specs and size.
aside from longevity, i think much smoother ang acceleration, although hindi naman masyadong noticable.

July 1st, 2015 03:21 PM #24try niyo baguhin gap ng spark plugs.
napansin ko mas smooth acceleration kapag above 1.1mm yung gap.
adjusted yung sakin ng 1.3mm.
2NZFE at 2E engine nga pala.
stock gap ay 1.1mm.

July 1st, 2015 10:30 PM #25So guys,
Ano ba, in your opinion ang best type of spark plug when we talk about performance and fuel economy? Longevity factor aside.
Copper or Iridium?

July 1st, 2015 10:45 PM #261d4lv,
OEM plugs have a gap of 0.8mm. The iridium equivalent is 0.6mm. Is that good news or bad?

July 2nd, 2015 09:14 AM #27based on experience mga sir. share ko lang.
if narrow gap ang spark plugs, no/less misfire on high revs and better idling. (better drivability)
wide gap naman, better acceleration response at mas maganda ang power sa dulo. (more on performance)
kaya mapapansin natin sa owner's manual, kapag 1.3L and below ang engine capacity wide gap ang spark plugs kasi kulang sa torque (1.1mm and up). kapag 1.4L and up naman, narrow gap (0.8mm and below)

Thank you for your insight. I just might be interested in upgrading my plugs in the next PMS run.
