doc, how about salvaging the filtration system of a willys jeep engine....from the looks of it, it looks like a bypass filter. if i'm not mistaken the size of the hole on the discharge is 1/16 of an inch. search on the baldwin site gave me the P40 pail type filter.

a quick search on the net with regards to valvoline turbo 15W40 CF4 gave me an average of 8-10 TBN. yes it's cheap at P200/liter but i think i'd better switch back to delo gold which is stouter.

I have no ideal on that on, 1-16th is pretty much a cummins engine size.
This is the adapter I use to convert the kits 3/4 16" thead to a 1-16" thread, You just screw it on.
Now here's the deal you can just get this adapter above if you already have a 3/4 16 thread and have 8" of clearance and put a LF9028 or BD7317 directly on your vehicle. Would work on things like the TD42, TD27, Ford Everest ect ect. Your not going to fit it on most cars due to the space requirements without getting the full kit.
A competent machine shop could make this adapter for almost any size filter thread. It allows you to use a much larger and better filter.

dvldoc,
is it important to follow the manufacturer's recommendation of viscosity rating? in the manual of the innova and vios, the recommended rating is 15w40 and 20w50 for the Philippine climate.
im thinking of using 10w40.
thanks!

Better ang baldwin, purolator or fleetguard (as long as orig as mentioned here). Mas sureball kung fleetguard na lang sa volmax bibilhin mo if ever. Thrice better than Vic kasi mga yan.
But Bosch is really good vs Vic. 2,800kms na odo o sa filter na yan for 3 months at yung oil wala ako ma-feel na sandy bits hindi gaya ng Vic dati na aglit lang may sandy feeling na yung oil. Alam mong may mga abrasive materials already circulating the engine and other parts .Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
