You can go around 10000 easily on mineral oil and 12000 to 15000 on synthetic but it also depends on the API rating. Oils like Delo 400 which are group 2 will go 12000 on a diesel so in a gas engine expect a much longer life out of it. Diesel oils are more robust and have a higher TBN so they last longer.

It's not me that busted it that for sure, the availability of engine oil analysis to the average person has shown clearly the facts on oil changes.
If your green, which I am not but try to be, it's much better for your environment as well, less oil used less to dispose of.

Indeed sir dvldoc. Not to mention savings in oil change interval. Imagine, if you have 5 or more cars..... that is already a big savings on extending the oil change interval.

They're near the 5th Ave. LRT station along Rizal Ave. Some word of caution with Pacer though. We bought a couple of Fleetguard filters from them a few months back and per checkings with dvldoc and cross-referencing the pics of what we got with what can be seen online, there's suspicion it may be fake. We're trying it now with a 5000km OCI and will open it up right after to confirm whether the filter is good or not.

I know this has been discussed so many times before in this thread but I'll ask again. The main reason why some people change oil regularly at a short interval is to avoid the formation of sludge inside the engine. Having said that, is it bad oil filtering that causes the formation of those sludges? or is it the oil itself which at some point will degrade and sludge the engine? sa oil ba ito or sa filter?
