It will depend on how much moisture is present in the fuel, gas stations and brands vary.
Also a factor is the amount of flow that a filter is subjected and the saturation point of the element.

I drain my fuel filter every month. In my experience, marami pa ding tubig ang nasasala. I used to pump my petrol in Petron SLEX. The water causes sometimes hard starting. So kahit na dun sa bagong stations, meyron pa din water. Opinion ko lang naman. D4D 2.5 pala engine ko.

Petron diesel additive might be of help to control/contain and wash away sludge that might form in the tank filter and pump.

We have first hand experience on what happens inside the HP3 when contamination occurs. Actually we remanufacture and calibrate them and offer them for exchange.

Before, I thought kailangan mo antayin umilaw ung warning light ng fuel filter bago mo i drain. After reading this thread, I decided to have the CASA drain it for me at my 15000 PMS. Nothing came out, not even a tiny drop. Now, my question is, Am I that lucky, or is my fuel filter not that good.

I live in Malabon BTW. Pero I gas up regularly on 1 station that is not prone to flooding tho.

    That is a good sign.
But you dont have to wait for PMS, once a week or twice a month. Parang gripo lang yon sa ilalim ng filter.
Drain gas tank once a year.
We once we had a 08 strada with 4k sa odo, rejected warranty by mitsubishi. We were able to help the customer with a fraction of the price of a new HP3pump and 4 electronic injectors.

How much for the injectors? Just for reference. ;)

And... they rejected the warranty at just 4k? What the hell for?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Injectors were ok, we repaired the HP3pump.
Nag break-in sa Isabela nag pa carga sa isang gas station..... seguro mataas water content.
Long drive, highspeed and high levels of water in fuel equals disaster.
We were able to save him lots of money from the cost of a new pump and 4 injectors as recommended by Mitsubishi.

    That is not normal.

where does the leak come from? From the high pressure fuel line? or the return pipe to the pump? or down the nozzles?

How was the checking of the leak done? and where is the leak seen?

If the damage is just a loose high pressure pipe then i'm sure it shouldn't be "repaired" a handy open wrench might do your trick. but when the injector parts are failing, it should be brought to the shop/casa.
