Parati rin ako dyan sa tapat ng shop mo kada pa check up father in law ko. One of this day silip ako dyan even to just say hello.... You are most welcome to visit.

Maraming salamat uli sa mga nababasa ko dito and sana bosch lahat injector sa pilipinas para malunod ka sa trabaho. I will be posting diesel pictures in the future to make things more interesting. You will also enjoy future posts on CRDI stuff. I'm sure that questions on common rail will be coming in due to the fantastic market acceptance of this new diesel technology.

    Bye,

    To my fellow Tsikoters....

I have reviewed a lot of previous postings on this help desk as well as on other threads, and it is interesting to note that there have been a lot of good questions posed, and intelligent recommendations as well.

May I suggest that you also post your "fixes" for the benefit of those who may encounter the same problems. We can make this thread really productive and educational to all.

Just an idea I'll throw out:

I think car enthusiasts who are in particular clubs for certain makes and models might want to post their favorite site or link for DIY/technical information regarding the diesel engines. That way this thread can have some sort of technical diesel forum with lots of links to various diesels available.

For example, I myself frequent two discussion boards, one hugely dedicated to Mercedes-Benz diesels while the other contains lots of useful information for the W123 diesels.

    Benzworld.org, W123 section
    http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w123...d-td-te-class/

    Mercedesshop.com, Diesel Discussion
    http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforu...splay.php?f=15

In addition, I'm sure those diesel discussion boards have members who are very knowledgeable in the particular engines covered, and more, so that also allows for overlap of information that can link to even more sites. In fact, some members over at the Mercedes Shop forum are field engineers and if you read some of the threads, they're very particular with how much torque should you apply, how to properly install the engine head (follow the proper sequence and torque figures), what type of method to use for checking and adjusting the timing, what tools, part numbers, etc. While it may be a bit more crude over there since not all of the correct tools are easily available, at least the information is accessible. I think it's about time Pinoys become proficient with technical information, especially the owners of cars who have their cars fixed. That way they know what they're dealing with and the mechanics cannot fool them. What's more, they get a better understanding of the cars, and not just rely on what the mechanic says.

That's basically how I learned stuff about my car's engine in particular so I'm just passing the idea forward to those who may benefit from it. Hope that helps

    Hi MBeige,

Thank you for your leads on those great discussion boards. I agree that our fellow Tsikoters should have a better understanding of their engines for obvious reasons.

I have good posts at the CRDI Maintenance Questions...... thread, which is under Diesels, SUVs, Mini SUVs..... forum. This is an indication that the common rail diesel systems population is fast growing here.

We can help in this area.

    Hi Pajerokid,

I posted a pdf file on this topic. Were you able to check it out? Did it help you?

Hi Sir dieseldude I have another question about my fuel pump. whats the use of the adjuster screw that mechanics adjust if you fail the emission test? Is it for controlling the pressure or the amount of fuel being injected.

Hi Sir dieseldude I have another question about my fuel pump. What is your vehicle? Is your pump a VE type rotary pump?

whats the use of the adjuster screw that mechanics adjust if you fail the emission test? Which adjusting screw are you referring to?

Is it for controlling the pressure or the amount of fuel being injected.
The full load adjusting screw controls fuel output.

However, this screw should not be tampered with as it is an important calibration adjustment. This screw is sealed during calibration to prevent unauthorized tampering. Playing around with this screw/s will only throw your pump off calibration, and void pump warranty.

Black smoke can be caused by so many factors eg: a restricted air filter, faulty injectors, improper pump to engine timing, faulty pump calibration, faulty engine, etc.

    Hey Guys,

I recently took some pictures of the following pumps being calibrated here at our workshop.
    1. VP44 injection pump Nissan Patrol 2004
    2. EDC (electronic diesel control) injection pump for Benz E290 1999
    3. VE rotary pump for Isuzu 4JG2 1994
Will these pics interest you? I can post some.
