imo, no need na ng soft o hard break-in. as bro jut said, no babying and drive as you normally do. di na applicable ngayon yan sa mga modern engines at ang mga spare parts ay gawa na sa mas matitibay na materyal. yung mga langis din ngayon ay masyadong advance din ang technology at sari-saring additives na kasama para maiwasan ang wear and tear. ihataw na agad yan para malaman mo ang response ng makina habang bago pa at ng may comparison ka kung sakaling humina and hatak o iba ang andar. saka kung may deperensiya man, malalaman mo din agad at pwede mo i-claim kasi under warranty pa.

    Hard Break-in...

Kasi dyan nyo po malalaman agad kung merong defect/issues yung makina during first 1000KMS,

yung unang saksakyan namin, hard break-in, galing casa, takbo agad sa macapagal ng 120KPH, (2004) 11yrs na, no problem at all,

last year, nakabili ulit kami ng sasakyan, bago ko tanggapin yung unit galing sa casa, na-rev agad ako ng 4K RPM, for one minute, (diesel kasi) para malaman ko kung mag-emit bigla ng black smoke, or mag-iba yung tunog ng makina,

then 110KPH speed run agad...after few days, nakapag- 140KPH agad yung takbo, (wala pa po sa 100KMS sa odometer)

As much as possible "Extreme Caution" pag break-in period, test lahat po as much as possible, maliban sa engine performance, sa braking at handling capability...

and very important po, during break-in period, lalo pag long rest ang makina, during cold-start, let the engine warm-up, (off ang accessories, a/c off din) once na umabot na sa normal temp....saka patakbuhin...

The engine oil that came with the new car is thinner than the regular oil. Cars at the end of the assembly line are tested at high rpm to measure torque and evaluate engine performance and to evaluate wheel alignment should there be a need for adjustment. But when you buy the car, they RECOMMEND you avoid frequent hard acceleration, avoid carrying or pulling heavy loads and avoid high no load engine speed at least until after the first 3000 mile (5000 km) where they "supposedly" check the drained engine oil for solids suspended in the oil and listen/observe the engine for abnormal noise and vibration. You as the owner have the right to abuse your car. When it breaks, the dealership shop verifies whether the malfunction or damage was caused by abuse, neglect or defect in engineering, materials or workmanship. Afterall, you bought the car. It is beyond warranty if the owner so desires to destroy the car once he pays for it.

Cars and light trucks change the oil on the 1st 1300klm
Medium duty and full size pick up 1st 4000 Klm
    Heavy duty 1st 12000 Klm
Just to remove the break in materials from oil same as our new, reman or new overhaul engines and trans
We never break in our new unit we just put them to work its brand new so we wanna test it if anything goes wrong it's under warranty.

iba ang procedure.. soft break in pag bagong overhaul. brand new engine, all parts of the engine are brand new unlike in newly overhauled engine that have brand new and used parts that may not have seated together properly
