like this:

November 24th, 2011 09:31 AM #4pang gas engine lang yan.. kasi wala naman butterfly ang mga turbo diesel engine. sa mga naka butterfly throttle gagamitin yan to release the incoming boost from turbo when the throttle is suddenly closed.

purpose ng BOV is to protect the turbo from compressor surge
when the throttle closes (like when you let go of the gas pedal while you shift) the compressed air has to go somewhere
kung walang BOV the compressed air is forced back to the turbine blades. that puts stress on the turbo
the BOV (vent to atmosphere type) lets the compressed air out making that cool sound
meron BOV that vents air back into the intake (recirculate type) so wala sound yung ganun

kung kakabitan mo ng BOV ang NA engine, where does the compressed air come from to trigger the BOV?
